Spending time with patients and getting to know them beyond a diagnosis is what first inspired me to pursue psychiatry. During my years at Berea College, I learned the true power of human connection. As part of my labor assignment, I visited nursing homes where we would spend time talking with residents. Each visit, their faces would brighten as we listened to their stories, dreams, and memories. These conversations brought joy not only to them but also to me, teaching me the profound importance of truly listening and seeing someone for who they are—not just their current presentation.  When I entered medical school, I naturally gravitated toward psychiatry because it gave me the opportunity to connect with patients on a deeper level—understanding their fears, motivations, hopes, and dreams. Through the University of Kentucky’s Rural Physician Leadership Program, I was also privileged to spend time in rural communities across Kentucky, where I witnessed firsthand the unique challenges 

I am currently in my final year of fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I completed my Adult Psychiatry training at the University of Kentucky in May 2023. From now until May 2026, I will be seeing adult patients, and after graduating from fellowship, I will also begin seeing child and adolescent patients.

I am available for appointments on weekends and evenings and will transition to full-time practice in 2026. At present, I continue in my role as a fellow physician at the University of Kentucky; however, Sagebrook Behavioral Health is not affiliated with the University of Kentucky.
